About Us

The Light Direction Ltd. is based in Kirkby Lonsdale on the south eastern edge of the stunningly beautiful and much visited Lake District in Cumbria in the UK.

The Light Direction was founded in 2014 by Adrian Turpin following his relocation from Glasgow where he was a long standing member of staff at the BBC. Adrian works as a Lighting Designer and as a Colourist, being a member of the ICA, the International Colourist Academy and has had the great privilege of being trained in this art by more than one of Hollywoods top Colourists amongst others.

Adrian is passionate about lighting, colour grading and the production of a highly polished, professional product. He is someone to whom high standards are very important.

We have a great number of clients including broadcast, live events and local businesses.

We have a variety of lighting equipment available to hire including a Whole Hog 4 Road Hog lighting desk and a Whole Hog 4 Nano Hog. We also have lighting fixtures and associated grips equipment for hire suited for single camera location shoots.

Our DaVinci Resolve colour grading suite and edit suite is available for hire. It is equipped to broadcast specification and has a voice over booth facility as well as grade 1 picture monitoring.
